David G. Harris

David is a partner with the firm who focuses his practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate & Trust Administration. David also has a range of experience in the areas of Business Succession Planning, Non-profit & Tax-exempt Organizations, and Real Estate transactions.
Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, David came to Evansville in 1996 after graduating from the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. He initially joined the law firm of Frick Powell where he spent the first twenty-one years of his career honing his skills as an estate planning attorney, first as an associate and later as a partner. In 2017, David accepted a position as a Sr. Trust Advisor in the Wealth and Asset Management division of Fifth Third Bank where he provided estate planning and estate tax advisory services to the bank’s high net worth clients. In that role he also gained invaluable experience serving as a trust officer for the trusts in which Fifth Third was designated as trustee. After six years at Fifth Third Bank, David joined our firm in 2024 where he is helping to fill out the firm’s Estate Planning and Probate & Trust Administration practice.
During his years of practice, David has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Indiana and has been a speaker at numerous seminars and forums presented by various legal and community organizations. His past services to the Evansville legal community have included serving as a board member of the Evansville Bar Association, as Chair of its Probate, Elder Law, and Guardianship Section, and as a representative for Vanderburgh County in the Indiana State Bar Association House of Delegates. David also served as a board member and President of the Evansville Estate and Financial Planning Council, and as a board member and President of Legal Aid Society of Southwestern Indiana.
